This was one of my highlights of sri lanka. climbing to the top of adams peak. this was a place where buddhists , christians, muslims and hindhus come to worship 'sri prada' (footprint) Christians and muslims believe this is where adam came down from heaven and layed his first footprint on the ground. the buddhist believe it is where Buddha put his first footprint and Hindus where Shiva put his. the 5,500 steps to the top took from 2:45am - sunrise (7:45). it was an amazing spectacle to see with the swarm of people come to give praise to the Sri Prada. I just wanted to capture the moment you got to the top and turned around to see the guard shepherding the pilgrimage along.

these series of portraits are of my nephew luca. he was about 2 when i took these. we had been playing all afternoon and he found some chocolate chip cookies which were quickly eaten. in the moment of calm between the storm of the sugar rush i was able to take some close ups of his inquisitive nature. he looks so calm, then he stole my hat and the madness started up again.
